Posture

Even more importantly, though, is your spiritual posture. Developing good spiritual habits is vital to a thriving relationship with God. Following are some tips that I’ve found to help develop your spiritual posture, starting with easy ideas and working up to the more challenging:
Get a bible, if you don’t already have one! It’s hard to study without a physical Bible.
Read your Bible *every morning*. It doesn’t matter how much or how little: just get in the Word! If you find it hard to read in bed, get up, get dressed, go downstairs, do whatever it takes—just find a quiet place where you can spend time with the Lord.
Start a journal of where you read and what lesson you learned from it.
Go out and buy an actual bible study book from your local Christian bookstore. I’m sure they’ll have a wealth of subject to choose from. Go through that every morning, or every other morning, depending on how it’s broken down.
Start a prayer journal of people you’re praying for and their needs. Write down every morning who you prayed for, new requests, answered prayers, the like.
Conduct a deeper study of the passage you read in the morning. Reword the passage in your own words, write out what lessons there are to learn, and then write a prayer based on the passage.
Start a bible study. I’ve only recently begun to venture into that realm, but it’s still a good idea!
Remember, just like exercise can strengthen the muscles of a hunchback, building your spiritual posture will bring you faith and hope and love and joy and peace and ultimately, will bring you closer to you Lord and Saviour!
