Foxholes

The aspiration of every Warrior In Training is a stalwart faith. A faith unshakable as
Still, it is no easy road. It is long, hard, and painful. You see, faith is that attribute which can only be strengthened by passing through fire. It is only through hard trials that faith is strengthened. A good parallel is the process of tempering steel. The blade is placed in a hot fire, and then removed and cooled. This hardens the blade and gives it a strength greater than anything which has not passed through the fire. It can be toughened furthermore by repeating the process.
The same holds true for our faith. The only way to strengthen it is to pass through the fires of life. It is a trying time, and sometimes meltdown occurs, but on the opposite side of the flames your faith is strengthened leagues beyond what it would have been had you not been tested.
There will be times when it seems like the whole of Satan’s armies are falling upon your little foxhole, and there is no end in sight. They seem to be getting closer and closer, with all your attempts to hold them off failing. Their shots seem to be closing in on your entrenchment. It is these times which have the potential to really strengthen your faith.
When the flames are burning around you and things are getting hotter, you are faced with a decision: to take matters into your own hands, or keep your faith in Christ, knowing that He loves you and has promised to help you through. The choice is up to you. But only one decision will grow your faith into that of a Warrior. That is squaring your shoulders and walking straight into the fire, knowing that your Saviour and Lord is right beside you, shoring you up. So when trials come your way, know that this is just another step toward that stalwart faith of a Warrior!
“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.” ~ Hebrews 11:1, NLT
